Tippy’s Cafe: A Thai cafe you really must try…

A calm and refreshing hideaway on Barking road.

Tippy’s Cafe is an ‘English and Thai Cafe’ hiding quietly at 291 Barking Road in East Ham.  Open since 1991, It is an oasis of bamboo clad calm against the bustle and horn blaring of Barking Road offering a delicious variety of Thai dishes to make your mouth water.

They do offer english food and  traditional cafe fair (including a frothy coffee if the mood takes you) but we went for dinner last week and would personally recommend the Red Thai Curry and the Fish Special. Mmmmmmmmmm!

A local favourite…

The super friendly owner has lived in East Ham for 30 years (bet she has seen a few game days come and go) so that makes Tippy’s a favourite for locals on a Friday & Saturday night. Get there early or there might not be a table for you.

Need more reasons to love Tippy’s? Here’s a few…

Its BYO booze (they have a cork screw and EVERYFINK!), they do takeaway and also offer a cracking lunch menu! BOOM!

Sadly, Tippy is retiring and the cafe is closing on Saturday 29 June. Absolutely love this place.
