Ok, Steel yourselves… East Ham has a music festival. I know, right! And the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra are headlining! Ok, Ok, for those of you who used to live in Bethnal Green, it’s not Field day but it does promise to be a fun (albeit mainstream) evening out for all.
So pack your picnic blanket (or get there early to bag a picnic bench) and settle in at the main stage for the likes of Hot Chocolate, Aswad and Maxi Priest.
The event runs 4 nights, from 13th – 16th August (cross your fingers that the sun has got his hat on) with each night having its own genre. Thursday night is reggae-tastic, Friday is an eastern affair hosted by DJ moses (of Desi Rascals fame) and Tommy Sandhu (BBC asian network), Saturday will be soulful pop classics with Hot Chocolate, and Sunday is thoroughly classical with the RPO. Enjoy!
